This is a special page similar to the Daren First Nation page on First Nations.
The Siwaken First Nation refers to the internationally recognized protected community of Siwaken, located at the northern peak of the eastern continent of Oras and bordered by Winhold to the south. This indigenous community is made up entirely of Thri-Kreen, a race of bipedal insectoids. Thri-Kreen live in clans and tribes and have only recently been united by Xik'Nil-Kkanx, an elder druid of Silvanus, who acts as a makeshift monarch. It is due to their actions that Siwaken has been recognized by the nations of the world and protected by expansionism, hostile fauna and poachers.
The Thri-Kreen once lived all across Oras in underground nests, largely unbothered with the upper world. Dwarven mining near Norelva, Igellian construction projects, Irendall research missions and other new civilizations' affairs eventually led to their discovery, and their nigh extinction. Reacting to the humanoids' intrustion aggressively, the Thri-Kreen defended their nests with animalistic intent and were immediately thought of as simple parasites. Even Norelva waged war against them, exterminating local hives and pushing them out of the kingdom's borders. It was only due to time and the benevolent intervention of Silvanus, deity of wild nature, that they would survive the second encounter, this time with Irendall elves. Silvanus is said to have risen from moss and mud, and to have spoken to the elves directly to warn them of their actions and condemn their previous killings of the indigenous insectoids. Moved by such direct divine intervention, Irendallians were the first to bring the attention of the matter to the other nations, and eventually led the fight to securing the last Thri-Kreen hive near the arctic region of Oras.
